MIDIOR’s Madeline Magoon attended the #IamRemarkable Workshop + Reception sponsored by Women@GoogleCloud. Participants learned about the importance of self-promotion in both their personal and professional life through activities that inspired self-promotion.

 Susan Loconto Penta welcomed attendees to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Network: Creative Workforce Innovation Panel, developed in partnership with MadeINcubator, Inc and Living Art Week Boston. These high-level panelists focused on Boston’s creative economy, and explored its conceptual, institutional and policy framework, as well as global trends and features of the international market for creative industries. 

February 27th, 2023

Members of the MIDIOR team attended Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s “Cook and Bake with City Awake” event. They got to choose to either cook delicious tapas or bake cupcakes or truffles from scratch. At the end of the night, MIDIORites had the opportunity to taste the prepared dishes over drinks and hear from the chef instructors about their life stories on how they got to where they are today.

Members of the MIDIOR team attended Product Development and Management Association’s Supercharge Your Communication Skills with The Power of Authenticity Webcast, featuring Seth B. Greenwald. The focus of the webcast was to amplify the importance of communicating as a product manager. Seth discussed the five major obstacles that stand in the way of discovering authenticity as a communicator to better connect with an audience and also stressed the importance of creative thinking to improve impromptu communication skills.

MIDIOR is once again sponsoring the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's Pinnacle Awards, the region's premier event for women in business. Past Pinnacle Award winner and current Chair of the Women's Network Advisory Board, Susan Penta, will be on hand to oversee the ceremony, which honors Greater Boston’s dynamic leading women for their contributions to the workplace and their commitment to their communities. Greater Boston’s women in business are leading the region and world forward – with their influence and impact, they are building the industries and places that fortify the pillars of commerce.

Members of the MIDIOR team listened to an overview of PDMA’s Global Student Innovation Challenge. They learned about how students, professors, entrepreneurs and practitioners use process and best practices to launch successful products.

Susan Penta will be attending the annual Massachusetts Conference for Women, which provides connection, motivation, networking, inspiration and skill building for thousands of women each year. Since the first Conference in 2005, this annual event has grown to a sold-out crowd of more than 15,000 attendees and impacts thousands of lives.

Our Managing Partner, Susan Loconto Penta, will be one of the moderators at the Women's Network: Women Leading Construction & Real Estate Development event taking place this Thursday (11/17).  The event will include a panel of industry leaders discussing how to break barriers and empower the next generation of female leaders.

November 12th - 15th, 2022

PDMA Vice Chair, Susan Penta, will be in Orlando attending this year's annual conference, which will feature traditional sessions such as inspirational keynotes and educational breakouts as well as half-day intensive workshops. She will also be leading a session, Market Research in Product Innovation, in which she will cover a wide range of market research tools including secondary research, qualitative vs. quantitative, focus groups, customer site visits, ethnography, consumer panels, social media, big data, crowdsourcing, alpha and beta testing, and market testing.

Members of the MIDIOR team attended PDMA’s Webcast, “Scatterbrains: Teams Find Innovation by Thinking Differently” which explored the four different Innovation styles critical to innovation success: Generator, Conceptualizer, Optimizer and Implementer.

Michael Goldberger attended IFEBP's 68th Annual Employee Benefits Conference in Las Vegas. He walked away with a fresh perspective and new ideas after attending several incredible keynote sessions, including Earvin “Magic” Johnson's inspirational address.

Advisory Board Chair, Susan Penta, and her colleagues from the Women's Network enjoyed an evening of wine and networking at the Urban Grape Experience. During this event, a wine educator lead participants through an approachable tasting experience using The Urban Grape’s Progressive Scale - a unique way of organizing wine by its body, rather than varietal or region, as a way to help pick the perfect wine for your palate.

The MIDIOR team joined more than 350 women business leaders, owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, supplier diversity teams, and purchasing professionals at CWE's Women Business Leaders Conference. The event featured workshops, round tables, and panel discussions led by knowledgeable experts with topics centering around building and scaling a business, personal journeys and growth.

Susan Penta attended this installment of the Chamber's Government Affairs Forum, featuring Mayor Michelle Wu as she shared her priorities for the Boston economy with the local business community. Mayor Wu has been a tireless advocate for economic equity, sustainable communities, and creating opportunities for all residents to build generational wealth. Since taking office, Mayor Wu has already launched initiatives to revitalize the Downtown area impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, ensure local diverse companies have the opportunity to compete for and be awarded large contracts, celebrate our legacy businesses, and attract and retain diverse talent.

Over the past two years, women have left the workforce at an unprecedented rate. In the last quarter of 2021, as many as 1 in 3 women reported considering leaving their job, reducing work hours, or changing jobs.

The premier business event for Boston women (though men are welcome to attend), the annual Pinnacle Awards are held each year in January and honor business and professional women who have demonstrated excellence in business, management, and lifetime achievement. This inspirational program draws over 1,000 participants from the business and government communities. This year the event was led by MIDIOR's Susan Penta, who was recently named Chair of the Chamber's Women's Network that oversees this annual event.
